The Reformers, recognizing the negative effects of excessive alcohol consumption, advocated for temperance, promoting moderation and abstinence. Root beer emerged as a non-alcoholic alternative that aligned with their values, offering a refreshing and enjoyable option that allowed people to enjoy social gatherings without the harmful effects of intoxication.
